WasaCon strengthens its foothold in Kainuu

The construction company WasaCon is building a nursing home for the elderly in Suomussalmi.

WasaCon has been selected as the main contractor for the construction of a nursing home for the elderly in Suomussalmi. The contract includes the construction of a new nursing home for the elderly with associated modifications to the Suomussalmi health centre.

The new building has a surface area of 2,222 m2 and a volume of 10,260 m2. The new nursing home is a 2-storey building consisting of four care units.

The building will have more than 40 care places and facilities for day care, rehabilitation, community and office space. In addition, the nursing home will have an underground access to the health centre.

The construction contract in Suomussalmi is part of the expansion and consolidation of WasaCon's operations in Kainuu and northern Finland. WasaCon is also currently building in Kajaani.

The contract is worth approximately EUR 3 million and construction will start on 15 September 2014 with a completion date of 18 December 2015.
