WasaCon implemented the new premises of Autoklinika in Lohja
Autoklinikka is Finland's leading glass and damage repair shop, with 60 locations repairing around 70 000 cars every year. Now Autoklinikka also serves its customers in Lohja, where new premises were opened in May 2023.
The premises were implemented using the Wasa360 service model. WasaGroup takes care of all phases of a real estate development project, from land acquisition, financing and property planning to construction and maintenance of the property during operation. This time, WasaGroup found a well-located plot of land in Tynninharju, Lohja, that met the Autoklinika's requirements. WasaCon was selected as the main contractor for the project.
"WasaGroup has completed a number of premises for Autoklinika in different locations, so we know their needs both in terms of location and space. For me, the Lohja site was the first car repair building project I had led, but with a good partner it was easy to get started," says Veljo Kärbo, Site Manager at WasaCon.

Tight schedule requires coordination of work
All in all, the construction phase lasted only six months, which proved to be a tight schedule, especially when starting in winter.
"The handover was delayed by a few days. This was due to the impact of the winter, which lasted well into April, on the completion of the yard work and asphalting. However, we are honoured to hand over a prime site, so it was better to wait for the frost to melt than to rush. The people at the car clinic agreed," says Veljo Kärbo.
Lohja Autoklinikka opened its doors to customers and their cars in May 2023, just a week after the handover of the premises.
"It's clear that you don't want to leave the premises empty, so the fitting-out of the workshop and paint shop started while the construction work was still in progress. This required flexibility on both sides, but with good cooperation the work progressed as planned," says Kärbo.

The new premises have been welcomed
Janne Mouhu, Regional Manager of the Autoklinika, says that the new premises have proved to be very functional after a few months of use.
"The customized floor plan made it easier for us to locate the various functions in the workshop space, which naturally makes work more efficient. Spare parts and tools remain well organised, as their storage has also been taken into account from the start. I've even noticed that recruiting new technicians has become easier once we have a modern and comfortable working space," says Mouhu.
"Besides, the new workshop is the best business card for our customers. Many people have been amazed at how clean we are. We are the only operator on the property, which has allowed us to organise the parking in the yard as efficiently as possible," he continues.
