WasaCon to carry out the renovation and extension of the Kiuaskallio sports hall in Kurikka
WasaCon has been selected to carry out the renovation and extension of the Kiuaskallio sports hall in Jalasjärvi, Kurikka. The contract was signed in Kurikka on Friday 24.2.2023.
The renovation and expansion of the Kiuaskallio sports hall will be implemented as a KVR contract for technical solutions. During the renovation and expansion project, the Kiuaskallio sports hall will be renovated and an extension will be rebuilt. In connection with the reconstruction of the extension, the wrestling mat room, gym, and laundry and locker room facilities will be rebuilt.
“This newly signed contract demonstrates the ability of our organization, which was renewed last year, to succeed even in tightly competitive public procurement. As a contract form, the KVR contract for technical solutions increases the contractor's responsibility, but also provides the opportunity to effectively guide the project planning in cooperation with the client. During the project implementation phase, special attention will be paid to coordinating the old part to be renovated and the new extension part. The phased commissioning of the facilities also adds its own spice to the planning and scheduling of the project work,” says Veikko Jokimäki, Production Director at WasaCon Oy.
The signing of the contract for the Kiuaskallio sports hall will launch an important construction project for the city of Kurikka, which, when completed, will bring significant added value in the form of sports services to the residents.
“When completed, the renovated sports hall complex will complement the diverse offerings of the Kiuaskallio recreation area in Jalasjärvi and continue the series of construction investment projects that maintain the vitality of the entire city of Kurikka,” says Isto Virtanen , Technical Director of the City of Kurikka.
The architectural design of the project was carried out by Arkkitehtitoimisto Jorma Paloranta Oy. The structural analysis of the project was prepared by Sitowise Oy and the HVAC system description was prepared by Sweco Talotekniikka Oy.
