WasaCon expands its activities to the Kokkola region

Construction company WasaCon is expanding its operations in the Kokkola, Pietarsaari and Ylivieska economic areas. WasaCon has established a sister company in Kokkola, WasaCon Kokkola Oy, with Håkan Nyman as Managing Director and shareholder.

Nyman joins the company from Lemminkäinen Talo Oy, where he has been Regional Manager.

WasaCon Kokkola Oy will strengthen WasaCon's presence in the northern parts of the province of Ostrobothnia and in the regions of Central Ostrobothnia and Kalajoki Valley. Founded in 1996, WasaCon has carried out individual new construction projects, renovation and facade projects in Kokkola, Pietarsaari and Ylivieska throughout its history.

WasaCon Kokkola will become a major local contractor, backed by the expertise and long successful history of WasaCon in Vaasa and other group companies.

The new construction company aims to be a local, new-concept construction company, offering its customers and partners a new alternative as a construction partner. The new construction company will have a significant employment impact in its local area.

Through the joint venture, WasaCon's activities will expand to the north of WasaCon's traditional territory. WasaCon Kokkola will be led by Håkan Nyman from Kokkola, who has a long experience in the construction industry and is an entrepreneur.

WasaCon's long experience and young organisation create a good starting point for operating in the Kokkola region.

WasaCon Kokkola Oy belongs to the same WasaGroup group as WasaCon construction company, WasaPlan design office, WasaSteel steel supplier and WasaTrade machine rental company.

The local presence of the construction business in the Kokkola region opens up opportunities for the geographical expansion of other Group companies.

WasaGroup companies have always been proactive and growth-oriented, even when competitors downsize.
