Recognition for good construction
The South Ostrobothnian Building Foundation annually awards a builder's plaque to a significant building project in its area of operation and as a symbol of good construction.
Builder's plaque No 19 for 2019 has been awarded to Kurikka Campus, built by WasaCon.
The builder's slab was handed over at the Kurikka Campus on 6.5.2019.
The biggest single project in WasaCon's history
The Kurikka campus is a new joint campus for vocational and classroom education. The complex comprises a new building of approximately 12,000 m2 and a renovation of 4,000 m2. The total budget of the project was around €30 million and it was the largest single construction contract in the history of WasaCon.
The new type of campus was built under the same roof as joint facilities for vocational and classroom training for the Seinäjoki Education Consortium Sedu and the City of Kurikka. The campus has around 800 students. The building also has an open lobby area, which enables concerts, parties and meetings to be organised. The new building is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and multi-purpose facilities.
