Demolition work started at Takomo in Vaasa
WasaCon will demolish an old brick building at Myllykatu 17 in Klemettilä, Vaasa.
The demolished building will be replaced by a new office building with over 2,500 square metres of modern office space.
Since the early 1930s, the old building has been home to a wide range of metalworking and car repair activities until the 2000s. Hazardous materials such as asbestos, coal pickaxe and other hazardous waste from the old building are sorted and sent for further treatment.
The demolition work will also involve the replacement and appropriate disposal of soil contaminated by previous activities.
When the demolition work started, the pigeon chicks that nested in the old building were collected and delivered to Nordic Wildlife Care for breeding.
WasaCon will carry out the demolition of the old building responsibly and will build an impressive, high-quality and modern office building in Klemettilä, Vaasa.

The new building will meet today's requirements for office space and provide an excellent framework for working and serving customers.
WasaPlan Oy is responsible for the architectural and structural design of the new building. The main contractor is WasaCon Oy. WasaTrade Oy will equip the construction site. WasaGroup Oy will lease the new premises.
