New day-care centre in Vaasa's Kivihaka
A day-care centre that has been long needed by families with children in Vaasa's Kivihaa, Böle and Metsäkallio is finding a solution in the last moments.
The City of Vaasa has concluded a contract for the provision of day care services with Provida Oy. The new day-care centre should open as early as 1 August 2015. The new day-care centre is now in the process of finding premises along Kivihaantien, as the existing restaurant building is to be converted into a day-care centre.
Provida is delighted to have found an excellent location for the new day care centre, which has also been approved by the Vaasa Early Childhood Administration.

The new kindergarten represents a new way of thinking, where the location of the kindergarten is along commuting routes rather than in a residential area.
Young children often have the longest 'working days' in the family, as they are the first to be dropped off at nursery in the morning on the way to work and the very last to be picked up before returning home. We want to be able to offer an alternative to this, thanks to our good location.
The advantage of this day-care centre is the ease of logistics, especially for families.

Passing traffic has moved to a new bypass, so the inconvenience to traffic is actually less than in city centres where congestion causes stagnant exhaust fumes.
In addition, right next to the kindergarten there are wonderful forests for forest walks! The property itself is bright and beautiful. The cooperation with the architect went well and we were able to meet the needs of three groups of children.

WasaGroup Oy has assisted in the kindergarten's premises survey. "The building, which is currently used as a restaurant, was completed in 2011, and after the renovations we will be able to offer the kindergarten staff and children practically new, high-quality facilities," says Ari Tyynismaa, CEO of WasaGroup Oy.
The real estate investment will be managed by WasaGroup Funds, a real estate development fund based in Vaasa. The WGFs have provided new office space for companies with the help of private investors. The WGFs are now expanding their activities to address the space and investment needs of public services with private financing.
We are setting up a new WGF II real estate fund to finance this kindergarten investment. There has been very strong interest from investors, as we can now offer them the opportunity to finance facilities needed by public services in their own region.

An application for a building permit for a new kindergarten has been submitted. If everything goes according to schedule, families with children in Kivihaa, Böle and Metsäkallio in Vaasa will have a kindergarten available after the summer holidays.
