Completed in July, the Star of Sepänkyylä is home to happy residents. The property, built by WasaGroup, has 56 new apartments for seniors, while the commercial premises on the ground floor house a day care centre and Jelppis Team, a home services provider.
The new unique concept of senior housing has responded well to the needs of the residents. The new service, Silver Kodit, was first implemented in a project in Sepänkylki, Mustasaari. "The residents are satisfied with both the property and the services," says Henriikka Kontturi , Real Estate Manager at WasaGroup, based on feedback from the residents.
WasaPlan's designers take the needs of future residents into account from the very beginning in the design and construction of the apartments. The apartments are bright and comfortable, and are built with high quality materials. The apartments and the property are designed with accessibility in mind, and there is an elevator in the building. The open-plan design emphasises safety, comfort, community and accessibility.
WasaGroup has acted as property developer and builder of the site. WasaPlan Oy was responsible for the architectural and structural design and WasaCon Oy was the main contractor.

Silver Homes organises social events for residents and ensures that quality services are easily accessible. Depending on individual needs, the services chosen by the residents themselves may include home care, rehabilitation, medical care, cleaning and daily meals. The aim of these services is to support well-being and promote the possibility of living in one's own home for as long as possible. The unique new form of senior housing and services can be enjoyed soon, as the last apartments in the Star of Sepänkülä are still available for rent.
