WasaCon construction company 25 years
The 25th anniversary of WasaCon Oy was celebrated at a party for the staff in Vaasa.
“It is not entirely self-evident that a construction company has operated profitably for 25 years,” said Ari Tyynismaa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of WasaGroup, in his celebratory speech. He provided background to the company’s history by describing the situation after the recession of the 1990s, when the company first started its operations. There have also been challenging situations throughout history, all of which have been overcome by taking bold development steps at market turning points.
WasaCon's 25th anniversary celebration was held at Vaasa's Sähkö Arena, where a Sport-Kärpät ice hockey game was taking place at the same time as the celebration. WasaCon hosted the game, and former ice hockey player and current CEO of WasaGroup Oy, Timo Pahkala, dropped the opening puck.
Long-term staff were rewarded
The importance of experts as a factor in a company's success has only grown over the years. Professional personnel are the most important resource for a company.
At WasaCon's 25th anniversary celebration, a large number of people who have served WasaGroup for over 10 years were honored. A total of 18 people received recognition, three of whom have accumulated almost as many years of service as WasaCon is old. These people, who have worked for the company for over twenty years, are Karl-Erik Norrsjö , Lawrence Ravindrarajan and Markku Pihlajamäki .
