Isokyrö multi-purpose hall ready for use on schedule
WasaGroup implemented the project as a KVR contractor, responsible for design supervision and construction. The main contractor was the construction company WasaCon, which completed the works on time. The brand new multi-purpose hall, Isokyrö Arena, will be opened in early February.
Thanks to successful planning and efficient site management, the new sports hall was delivered to the client two weeks ahead of schedule. Jaakko Pukkinen, chairman of the Isokyrö Municipality building committee, is satisfied with the project and the final result. He is delighted that the facility, which will serve the well-being and health promotion of the local residents, will be in full use from the first day of February. Both the contractor and the end user are satisfied with the smooth cooperation.
"I am very pleased with the outcome and the ongoing dialogue between all parties during the project," says Jaakko Pukkinen, Chairman of the Building Committee.
The project was challenging to implement in the middle of a functioning school centre. The safety of the construction site and the school environment was taken into account in the design and construction, and dialogue between the contractor, the client and the user has taken place throughout the project. Jaakko Pukkinen, chairman of the construction committee, thanks in particular Jussi Sillanpää, WasaCon's construction foreman, for his well-managed interaction with the school and the library, which minimised disruption to users during construction. Martti Sillanpää , the responsible construction manager, says that the work on the sports hall was started at the right time for the construction in the spring, when conditions were favourable. In addition, the timing of the start of the work meant that most of the work could be carried out during the school summer holidays, when the area was empty of small schoolchildren.
The completed Isokyrö Arena has 2200 m² of space for sports. Suitable for a wide range of events, this high-quality multi-purpose hall offers facilities for a variety of ball sports, up to the size of a volleyball court. A balcony section around the court provides additional spectator space for larger tournaments and events. The new hall has a multi-purpose pitch and a wide range of changing, grandstand and storage facilities. In addition, the hall will have a vault and an approximately 60-metre long coordination line for coordination training and running training. At the same time, the coordination track will serve as a corridor connecting the new multi-purpose hall to the adjacent sports hall.
